DLF’s Park Place residents demand rights over community club, slam builder
GURGAON: Residents of Park Place – a condominium in DLF-V – staged a protest on Saturday against the developer for allegedly controlling the community club without considering residents’ requirements and participation.
Residents claim the developer often allows outsiders to hold parties in the community club and has even imposed an annual subscription recently, despite being promised of full club rights two years ago.
“While we pay high maintenance fees to the developer, it’s the outsiders who are having a good time in the club. It has become a major security issue in the condominium. It also leads to congestion and parking problem. Now, we are also forced to pay annual subscription fees for the services outsiders are using. It is complete injustice,” said Virender Kapoor, a resident.
“We had filed a criminal case against senior officials of the developer about a year ago for cheating and breach of trust as we were promised an exclusive club with all modern facilities. The developer also was supposed to hand over its control to the residents’ welfare association. However, we have not been given possession of the club for nearly two years now,” said Vineeta Mital, another resident.
Residents say their children are unable to use the swimming pool of the club because outsiders have also been given access to it. “It is totally unjustified. So we put up a peaceful protest in front of the club to highlight the issue,” said a mother of two, who did not wish to be named.
However, VK Gupta from the maintenance team of DLF Park Place said, “The allegations are baseless. We have never allowed any outsider to use any club facilities. We turned quaterly fee into annual fee as we have to bear maintenance of the club for the entire year.”
