UP housing board plans projects in Basti, Barabanki
LUCKNOW: In a bid to expand its boundary, UP Housing and Development Board (UPHDB) for the first time has proposed constructing housing projects in Basti and Barabanki. In Barabanki, around 47 hectares of land has been identified to develop ‘Chinhat Deva Marg Bhoomi Vikas Evam Grihasthan Yojna.’ In Basti, around 93 acres of land have been identified for housing units on Basti-Gorakhpur bypass.
Additional housing commissioner Rudra Pratap Singh said, “There is an increasing housing need in these two districts because of rise in population in past few years. Hence we decided to come up with plots, G+3 flats, single units etc; on these lands.” For residents of Mandola Vihar Yojna of Ghaziabad, the board has approved making of an 830-metre long, 4-lane flyover on a 60 metre-wide proposed master plan road to cross Delhi-Saharanpur highway.
Singh said, “The registration fee of properties in Mandola Vihar Yojna of Ghaziabad will remain the same as that during 2011 – Rs 12,000 per sqm. Over the years, the registration cost had increased to Rs 17,000 per sqm because of delay but the board decided to stick with the older rates.” Also, the board has agreed to acquire lands from farmers for future projects only after mutual negotiations.
