Two Mumbai builders arrested for allegedly cheating around 100 home buyers
The Khandeshwar police have arrested two builders, who are partners of Balaji Builders Group, after they surrendered to the cops. Two of the partners, Mahendra Singh and Bablu Gupta were arrested on Monday and Wednesday respectively and remanded to police custody till May 2 and 3.
Meanwhile, four FIRs were registered against them for cheating more than 100 home buyers collectively to the tune of Rs 20 crore.
A group of five builders had allegedly accepted booking amounts for flats in 2010 for different projects at Adai, Vichumbe, Sukhapur and Usarli villages in Panvel and New Panvel talukas, including the sites in Cidco’s Naina project.
They did not complete their projects and went absconding when home buyers demanded cancellation or refund of their money.
